All prices in the table include GST.
All prices in the table are based on installation on a tiled roof. If you have a tin roof, you will receive a discounted price.
All prices in the table are based on a standard installation of the solar energy system – the final cost of your installation will be provided in a free, no obligation quote. The final cost depends on your specific circumstances, such as double-storey homes, steep roofs, any additional cabling, switchboard upgrades, split arrays, microinverters due to shading and whether you take up the Victorian Government no interest loan.
Systems are supplied and installed by EnviroGroup or their sub-contractors.
*Hume regular price: Price includes the Australian Government Small Scale Technology (STC) financial incentive (2025 values). Quotes for solar energy systems issued now will be scheduled for installation in 2025.
**Hume regular price with Victorian Government solar rebate and loan: Price includes the Victorian Government $1,400 solar rebate and $1,400 optional, no interest loan. The rebate doesn’t require repayment, however the loan is to be repaid over 4 years or can be repaid sooner. If paid off over four years, the monthly repayment is less than $30 which is usually less than electricity bill savings.
Many households in Hume are eligible for both the rebate and loan. To qualify, household income must be below $210,000 per year, the property value must be under $3 million, and other eligibility criteria must be met. Check Solar Victoria for full eligibility criteria.
There are also Victorian Government solar rebates for rental properties.
***Hume concession price: This price includes take up of both the Victorian Government’s $1,400 rebate and their $1,400 no interest loan. In addition, Hume City Council offers the following rebates to eligible concession card holding homeowners who choose to have solar installed through the Home Energy Upgrades program:
Limited Council rebates are available through the program and are applied at point of sale by our vetted supplier, EnviroGroup. One Council rebate for one solar PV energy system is available per property owned and occupied by an eligible concession card holder.
Find out which concession cards are eligible for the rebates.
Warranties
Trina solar panels come with a 25-year product warranty; the Sungrow inverter has a 10-year warranty and the whole system has a 10-year installation warranty.
Batteries
Solar batteries are not included in the Hume Home Energy Upgrades Program, as they are not considered a cost-effective way to save on energy bills for most households. Batteries are still relatively expensive, and the payback period is often longer than the warranty period of the battery (typically 10 years).
EnviroGroup can however provide advice for residents interested in solar batteries. If you’re considering a battery for the future, let EnviroGroup staff know, and they will advise on a battery-ready inverter.
There are also solar battery loans available from the Victorian Government.
